Envirotech Vehicles, Inc., a leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, has delivered its latest Bumble Bee electric school bus to Kopperl Independent School District (Kopperl ISD) in Bosque County, Texas, under the U.S. EPA’s Clean School Bus (CSB) Program.

The delivery marks the fourth electric school bus deployed by Envirotech in just the past two weeks, as part of a $8.57 million grant awarded under the CSB Program to supply 25 zero-emission buses across Texas and Arkansas.

“This is just the beginning,” said Jason Maddox, President and Interim CFO of Envirotech. “We thank the EPA for this initiative and are optimistic about scaling this segment further in 2026 through additional grant support.”

Key Features of the EVT Bumble Bee Electric School Bus:

  • 100% electric, fast-charging, with a range of up to 150 miles per charge
  • Zero tailpipe emissions, reducing exposure to harmful diesel pollutants
  • Lower maintenance costs, with regenerative braking and no engine/exhaust system

A Step Forward for Sustainable School Transport

The EPA’s Clean School Bus Program, part of a $5 billion federal investment over five years, aims to transition aging diesel bus fleets to zero-emission alternatives—improving air quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing student health.

As Envirotech continues deliveries, the company is also exploring expanded participation in future EPA grant cycles and growing its reach in the electric school bus segment.
