TotalEnergies Marketing Canada Inc. has officially launched Quartz EV-Drive R 3.1, a cutting-edge synthetic fluid engineered specifically for electric vehicle (EV) drivetrain reducers, making it the first major supplier in Canada to introduce such a product tailored for the evolving needs of electric mobility.

The new fluid, born from years of intensive R&D, addresses the critical demands of modern EVs by offering:

  • Enhanced Compatibility with copper and electrical insulation materials
  • Superior Thermal Control for optimized heat transfer and cooling
  • Advanced Dielectric Properties to prevent short circuits and static buildup

“Quartz EV-Drive R 3.1 represents a major step forward in the electrification era,” said a spokesperson from TotalEnergies. “It not only protects and optimizes EV gearboxes but also aligns with our global sustainability roadmap.”

The product’s launch follows the 2024 introduction of Quartz 0W-8 and Fluidsyn, and precedes the upcoming Quartz 0W-12, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation in fluid technology for electric and hybrid vehicles.

This EV-specific formulation supports TotalEnergies’ broader vision of carbon neutrality by 2050, aligning with initiatives such as energy storage, fast-charging infrastructure, and advanced lubricants for sustainable transportation.
