Chinese automotive giant GAC Group has officially opened its first flagship store in Southeast Asia with the inauguration of the GACB Sathorn Experience Center and the GAC Thailand Battery Service Center in Bangkok’s bustling Sathorn district. This milestone marks a major leap forward in GAC’s global expansion strategy and reinforces its commitment to providing a premium consumer experience in Thailand’s fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

The grand opening ceremony drew representatives from the Thai government, top-tier media outlets, and key industry leaders who witnessed what GAC described as a “historic moment” in its overseas development journey.

As part of its two-pronged “Sales + Energy Services” strategy, the Sathorn Experience Center is paired with Thailand’s only Board of Investment (BOI)-approved battery service center, delivering a full-spectrum solution combining product display, customer engagement, and after-sales battery servicing.

AION UT Launched to Strong Local Demand

A day prior to the launch event, GAC introduced its upgraded AION UT, a global premium compact electric model tailored for Thailand’s urban drivers. Boasting a sleek design, advanced tech features, and high-performance capabilities, the AION UT has quickly become a standout in the Thai EV segment — with over 4,500 pre-orders secured during the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show.

Establishing a Benchmark for Southeast Asia

With the opening of the Sathorn center and a fully integrated service model under the “One GAC 2.0” strategic vision, the company has now implemented a comprehensive overseas expansion framework. This includes products, intelligent manufacturing, channels, services, energy systems, and mobility platforms.

Looking ahead, GAC aims to position the Sathorn Experience Center not only as a flagship hub for Thailand but also as a launchpad for its wider Southeast Asian market ambitions. The facility is expected to serve as a benchmark model for regional operations, demonstrating GAC’s capability to deliver localized service excellence, innovation, and long-term commitment to global markets.

GAC’s latest moves signal a bold push to become a key player in the ASEAN EV ecosystem, further accelerating the transition to clean mobility across the region.
