EMO Energy, a leading deep energy-tech startup backed by prominent investors Gruhas, Subhkam, and Transition VC, has launched NEXO, a fully integrated energy ecosystem designed to revolutionize India’s last-mile delivery fleets. The ecosystem merges solar power, advanced battery storage, and smart energy management software to deliver a seamless, efficient, and cost-effective EV infrastructure tailored for the fast-growing quick-commerce sector.

With over 6,400 battery-powered vehicles and 900+ fast chargers already deployed across 200+ dark stores, EMO Energy aims to initially roll out the NEXO ecosystem in 100 dark stores across Bangalore and Delhi/Gurgaon.

NEXO is EMO’s answer to India’s fragmented EV energy landscape, where different vendors manage chargers, batteries, and software in isolation. This siloed system has often resulted in performance issues and higher costs for delivery fleets. In contrast, NEXO’s vertically integrated model brings together every element of the energy chain—solar panels, battery packs, fast chargers, energy storage, and AI-powered management software—into a single cohesive system.

As quick-commerce continues to scale, energy is the only controllable lever to stabilize operating costs,” said Sheetanshu Tyagi, Co-founder & CEO of EMO Energy. “NEXO closes the gaps caused by fragmented systems and offers a unified solution that delivers up to 25% energy savings and 40% cost reduction at the dark store level.

At the heart of the ecosystem lies SENS, EMO’s proprietary AI-driven energy and health management platform, which smartly balances solar generation and grid input to ensure maximum uptime. Supporting this are:

  • ZenBase: A liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
  • SWFT Dual-Gun Fast Chargers: Each supporting up to 20 riders per day
  • ZenPac 2 kWh Battery Pack: With 80% charge in 20 minutes, backed by 16 global patents, and known for superior thermal performance

These components already power fleets for major delivery players including Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Bigbasket, and Domino’s.

By FY 2026, NEXO is expected to enable each dark store to support 20,000 delivery rides per month, with solar contributing at least 25% of the total energy mix. In areas with poor grid infrastructure, the system can even operate completely off-grid, marking a significant leap forward in sustainable urban logistics.
