The 2025 International Automotive & Supply Chain Expo opened its doors in Hong Kong with a powerful showcase from Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), which unveiled eight flagship models across its three core brands—GAC, AION, and HYPTEC. Among the highlights was the global debut of the GOVY AirCab, the company’s first mass-produced flying car, marking a bold step into the future of urban mobility.

GAC also introduced “Hong Kong ACTION,” the localized execution of its “One GAC 2.0” global strategy, underscoring its commitment to expanding influence through Hong Kong into global right-hand drive markets. This year’s expo saw the Hong Kong debut of the AION UT, a global strategic electric SUV, while four of the showcased models have already launched in the city.

Among the standout models:

  • AION Y PLUS, known for its safety, extended range, and fully reclining seats.
  • AION V, a family-friendly SUV combining technology, safety, and comfort.
  • HYPTEC HT, a premium electric SUV with ventilated, heated, and massaging seats.
  • E9 PHEV, a popular luxury MPV that quickly gained traction with strong 2024 sales in Hong Kong.

The AION UT, designed by GAC’s Milan Design Center, was introduced to the Hong Kong market with its futuristic design, spacious interior, and AI voice assistant. Built to meet both Chinese and European five-star safety standards, it is expected to hit Hong Kong roads later this year.

Tapping into Hong Kong’s gateway role to Southeast Asia, GAC emphasized its push into the global right-hand drive market, which makes up 30% of global vehicle sales. To that end, GAC also announced the official commencement of operations at its Indonesia Smart Factory on June 12, a major production hub aimed at serving the ASEAN region.

One of the most futuristic highlights of the expo was the GOVY AirCab, a flying car designed to support the emerging low-altitude economic ecosystem with the promise of “one-click” worry-free travel. Complementing this innovation was the GoMate, GAC’s third-generation humanoid robot, which served as an intelligent reception officer and showcased the company’s AI capabilities with future applications in public safety and smart cities.
