BMW M GmbH has streamlined its electrified luxury performance SUV portfolio, focusing exclusively on two models: the BMW XM Label and the BMW XM 50e. This move aligns with the brand’s strategic emphasis on high-performance electrified mobility, unveiling a more focused and powerful offering for discerning enthusiasts.
At the helm of the new line-up is the BMW XM Label – the most powerful BMW M production model to date – boasting a formidable system output of 550 kW (748 hp) and 1,000 Nm of torque. Powered by the M HYBRID system that integrates a 430 kW (585 hp) V8 engine with a 145 kW (197 hp) electric motor, the XM Label rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, extendable to 290 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.
The BMW XM 50e, which features an electrified inline six-cylinder engine, continues unchanged. With a WLTP electric range of 80–86 km, this variant offers a more accessible yet potent performance experience.
Design Meets Power
Complementing the XM Label’s aggressive performance is its bold design language, further enhanced with new customisation options. Customers can now opt for the BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic exterior finish and new high-gloss Black kidney grille accents. Standard 22-inch alloy wheels have replaced the earlier 21-inch set, while a new 23-inch alloy option in Black is also available.
For the interior, BMW offers exclusive Merino leather options, including Night Blue, Vintage Coffee Brown, and Silverstone with Black accents, paired with comfort cushions as standard. These updates underscore the XM Label’s luxury credentials while maintaining the sporting DNA of BMW M.
Enhanced Charging & Unveiling at Le Mans
The charging capabilities of the XM Label have been enhanced with the Combined Charging Unit now supporting AC charging at up to 11 kW, improving usability for customers transitioning to electrified performance.
BMW will unveil the upgraded XM Label on June 14, 2025, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where BMW M Motorsport will compete with the BMW M Hybrid V8 in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) – a fitting venue that underlines the model’s racing spirit and cutting-edge engineering.
Art Meets Machine: Carl Cox Collaboration
In a creative twist, world-renowned DJ Carl Cox has collaborated with BMW M to produce an audio experience using the actual sounds of the XM Label – from the V8’s deep growl to the bonnet’s signature close – creating a tribute as bold and expressive as the vehicle itself.
Pricing and Availability
In Germany, the BMW XM Label is priced from €183,400, while the BMW XM 50e starts at €133,800. Both models reflect BMW’s commitment to luxury, performance, and sustainability, setting new benchmarks in the electrified SUV segment.
