Electra, the Boston‑headquartered specialist in AI‑driven battery intelligence, electrified Italy’s WMF – We Make Future 2025 festival on Saturday by capturing the coveted Audience Prize in the event’s flagship startup competition.
Chosen as one of just six finalists from thousands of global applicants, Electra’s Chief Marketing Officer Giovanni Rossi took the Mainstage before more than 5,000 on‑site spectators—and an online audience spanning 90 countries—to deliver a rapid‑fire three‑minute pitch on the urgent need for smarter, safer energy‑storage systems.
As solar and wind become central to global energy production, the role of batteries in storing and delivering energy at the right time is more critical than ever,” Rossi told the crowd. “Yet current systems suffer from limited monetization potential, unpredictable failures and slow innovation cycles.”
Dual‑platform solution
Electra’s answer is a two‑pronged software suite:
- EnPower – a digital‑twin environment that speeds up battery design, testing and integration.
- EVE‑Ai – a real‑time analytics and control engine that monitors performance, predicts faults up to three months in advance and extends battery life by as much as 40 percent.
Together, the platforms claim to boost operators’ annual return on investment by up to 15 percent, regardless of battery chemistry, and work across electric vehicles, micromobility fleets and grid‑scale storage.
Industry observers say the company stands out in a fragmented battery‑software market by unifying modelling, diagnostics and control in one toolset. The Volta Foundation recently named Electra among the world’s leading pioneers at the intersection of AI and electrochemistry.
Fast‑growing global footprint
Founded by former NASA engineer Fabrizio Martini, Electra has raised US $21 million in Series A funding and now operates in the United States, Europe, India and South Korea. The Audience Prize follows a year of rapid expansion as the firm races to support booming demand for intelligent battery management in the energy‑transition era.
High‑stakes finale
Electra shared the WMF spotlight with fellow finalists Invigilo AI, ALBA Robot, Helix Carbon, CircularPlace and AndromedAI. Hosted by Veronica Maffei and Tiarne Hawkins and organised by Search On Media Group, WMF 2025 drew record crowds eager to witness the latest in global tech innovation.
