Kia has officially launched the new Sportage in Europe, introducing the most advanced version of its best-selling compact SUV. With over 7 million units sold globally, the latest Sportage sets new standards in design, innovation, technology, and convenience.

Built specifically for European customers, the new Sportage features a shortened wheelbase for improved maneuverability, while preserving interior space. Rear passenger legroom exceeds one metre, and cargo capacity reaches up to 1,776 litres with the second-row seats folded. “With a fully upgraded package, ready for every adventure, the most refined Sportage ever appeals to a wide variety of consumers, including our legacy customers, as it offers new levels of versatility, convenience and comfort”, said Sjoerd Knipping, COO at Kia Europe.

As part of Kia’s push toward sustainable mobility, the new Sportage is available with electrified powertrains, including hybrid (HEV) and mild-hybrid (MHEV) options. These are paired with improved aerodynamics and a lower center of gravity for enhanced driving performance.

The new design is guided by Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, blending soft, smooth surfaces with rugged detailing and a confident stance. Eye-catching features include LED Star Map lighting, a bold tiger nose grille, and new alloy wheels available in 17, 18, and 19 inches, with exclusive designs for the GT-Line.

Inside, the cabin has been refined to offer a modern and luxurious experience. The GT-Line includes a black-and-white interior in artificial leather and suede, with seat and door trim made from Dinamica eco-suede, which contains up to 75 percent recycled polyester. Kia and Dinamica use water-based production processes, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Technology takes center stage with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCnC), which includes dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays and a new 10-inch head-up display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with over-the-air updates, Kia Connect services, and in-car payments.

The Sportage also introduces a Feature-on-Demand platform, allowing drivers to add new display themes, video streaming, arcade games, and more. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connects up to five devices. The new Digital Key 2.0 enables secure, keyless access using a smartphone, which can also be shared with others.

The new Sportage offers a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. These include standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle detection, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with adaptive cruise control and steering support, including lane change assistance.

The new model will be produced at Kia’s plant in Zilina, Slovakia, and is expected to arrive in European showrooms in the third quarter of 2025. Pricing will be announced by individual markets closer to launch.
