In a major step toward consolidating its electric vehicle (EV) operations, Mullen Automotive Inc. announced that it has acquired an additional 21% stake in Bollinger Motors, bringing its total ownership to 95%. The move significantly boosts Mullen’s shareholder equity by approximately $3.5 million and strengthens its commitment to Bollinger’s future in the commercial EV market.
The acquisition also settles legal and financial issues that had previously placed Bollinger in a court-ordered receivership. With the resolution of claims and the dismissal of the case with prejudice, Mullen has cleared the path for uninterrupted operations and a unified strategic direction. Bollinger will continue operating as an independent majority-owned subsidiary, preserving its brand identity and continuing service to current and future customers.
This is an important moment for both Mullen Automotive and Bollinger Motors,” said David Michery, CEO and Chairman of Mullen Automotive. “Our investment and commitment to resolving key debts reaffirm our belief in Bollinger’s product lineup and long-term potential.
Bollinger B4: A Game-Changer in Class 4 Commercial EVs
Central to Bollinger’s future is the B4 Chassis Cab, a purpose-built Class 4 all-electric commercial truck. Engineered with direct feedback from fleet operators and upfitters, the B4 features a 158-kWh battery pack, 7,325-pound payload, 185-mile range, and 46-foot turning radius. Its patented Quad-Bend™ chassis design enhances safety and component protection—offering a compelling solution for urban logistics and fleet electrification.
Mullen’s Broader EV Vision
Mullen’s acquisition aligns with its broader goal of becoming a leader in U.S.-based commercial EV manufacturing. With two manufacturing facilities in Tunica, Mississippi (120,000 sq. ft.) and Mishawaka, Indiana (650,000 sq. ft.), the company has already begun production of the Mullen ONE (Class 1 cargo van) and Mullen THREE (Class 3 cab chassis)—both CARB and EPA certified.
The company’s dealer network of seven established partners, including Papé Kenworth and Randy Marion Auto Group, provides sales and service coverage across key U.S. markets.
Strategic Synergy and Accelerated Development
Mullen expects the integration of Bollinger’s innovation with its production expertise to create synergies that accelerate time-to-market, expand product offerings, and reduce costs. Despite being a subsidiary, Bollinger will benefit from shared resources, broader technical support, and market access through Mullen’s ecosystem.
“Bollinger’s B4 platform is now supercharged with Mullen’s scale and backing,” noted Michery. “Together, we’re positioned to meet the surging demand for sustainable commercial transportation.”
This strategic acquisition reinforces Mullen’s aggressive EV growth strategy while ensuring that Bollinger’s innovations continue to shape the future of electric commercial transport in the U.S.
