Battery X Metals Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary Battery X Rebalancing Technologies Inc., has announced an expansion of its lithium-ion battery rebalancing system to include support for the Nissan Leaf—the second most common out-of-warranty electric vehicle model in the United States.
The company is developing both hardware and software designed to extend the lifespan of EV batteries, part of its broader mission to support energy transition technologies. The updated system builds on Battery X Rebalancing Technologies’ second-generation prototype (“Prototype 2.0”), which was announced earlier this month.
Prototype 2.0 features several key advancements, including:
- Enhanced diagnostics to evaluate battery health
- Patent-pending cell balancing technology to extend battery life
- A compact, user-friendly design for use in the field
- Integrated testing tools and connectivity ports for future EV model compatibility
With the inclusion of Nissan Leaf functionality, Battery X continues to advance its goal of delivering scalable solutions that support electric vehicle longevity and reduce battery waste.
The company sees this development as a key milestone toward eventual commercial deployment across a broader range of EVs.
