Oben Electric, India’s leading homegrown R&D-driven electric motorcycle manufacturer, has announced the development of its second indigenous electric motorcycle platform — the O100 (pronounced O Hundred). Designed to target the highly competitive and cost-sensitive 100cc equivalent motorcycle segment, the platform aims to democratize electric mobility for India’s mass commuter market.

Conceived and engineered at Oben’s state-of-the-art R&D center in Bengaluru, the O100 platform marks a strategic expansion for the EV innovator. It is tailored to deliver affordable electric motorcycles under ₹1 lakh, addressing the needs of daily commuters across urban and rural India. The 100cc equivalent category currently represents nearly 30% of India’s two-wheeler market, making this a crucial move in Oben’s growth roadmap.

“At Oben Electric, we design and build with intent—to solve real-world mobility challenges,” said Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric. “The O100 is engineered for India’s mass daily commuters and aims to make electric motorcycles a practical reality for every Indian.”

Built for scalability, the O100 platform features modular architecture, enabling multiple variants, diverse battery configurations, and tailored functionalities. Its future-ready design ensures seamless integration of emerging technologies and infrastructure upgrades, paving the way for long-term EV adoption in the most price-sensitive segments of the country.

The platform will leverage Oben’s proprietary LFP battery technology, as well as other in-house developed components like the motor, Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and chargers. This vertical integration promises high performance, cost efficiency, and swift production ramp-up.

Following the success of the ARX platform that powered the performance-focused Oben Rorr and Rorr EZ, the O100 shifts the focus toward reliability, affordability, and utility, making EVs more accessible than ever.

Oben is also pursuing aggressive retail expansion, aiming to cross 100+ showrooms by the end of 2025 across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities. The O100 platform is expected to significantly boost sales per outlet and enhance dealer ROI in the brand’s already profitable and optimized distribution network.
