The new Kia EV3 has received top marks for safety from Euro NCAP, Europe’s leading independent vehicle safety authority. In recent testing, the EV3 equipped with Kia’s DriveWise ADAS Pack* earned a five-star safety rating. The version without the package received a strong four-star rating.
The EV3 was evaluated across four key safety categories and performed consistently well:
- Adult occupant protection: 83%
- Child occupant protection: 84%
- Vulnerable road users (e.g. pedestrians): 78% (77% without DriveWise)
- Safety assist systems: 78% (67% without DriveWise)
The DriveWise ADAS Pack enhances safety with a suite of advanced driver assistance features, using cameras and radar to detect hazards and support safer driving and manoeuvring.
Euro NCAP highlighted the EV3’s outstanding side impact protection, awarding it maximum points in the side barrier test. The car also received praise for its standard driver status monitoring system and advanced eCall emergency alert system, which notifies emergency services in the event of a crash. “The EV3 is an amazingly versatile vehicle, able to adapt to wide range of lifestyles, and this rating shows the vehicle is highly protective for the driver, passengers and other road users,” said Pablo Martínez Masip, Vice President of Product and Marketing at Kia Europe. “The Euro NCAP rating is just reward for a vehicle that has greatly impressed the media, the industry and customers alike.”
Contributing to its safety credentials is Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which delivers a strong and rigid vehicle structure.
The EV3, designed as a versatile and affordable main vehicle for modern households, has already made a significant mark in the automotive world. It was named 2025 World Car of the Year and finished runner-up in the 2025 Car of the Yearaward. The compact SUV has also collected several other accolades across Europe.
With a class-leading range of up to 605 km and an interior focused on comfort, space, and accessibility, the Kia EV3 is now available across Europe. Kia also plans to expand the lineup with an all-wheel drive variant, complementing the current two-wheel drive models.
