MINI has officially pulled the wraps off its most electrifying performance machine yet — the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, combining the legendary go-kart feel of MINI with cutting-edge electric mobility.

This latest launch marks a bold leap into the future for the British marque, as the high-performance John Cooper Works (JCW) badge now adorns a fully electric vehicle for the first time. Boasting a dynamic design, lightweight build, and advanced EV technology, the JCW Electric is engineered to thrill.

Performance Meets Precision

Under the hood – or rather, under the floor – lies a 190 kW (258 PS) electric motor delivering a punchy 350 Nm of torque directly to the front wheels. With a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h, the new JCW Electric proves that sustainability doesn’t have to come at the expense of speed.

The power is fed by a 54.2 kWh lithium-ion battery (net 49.2 kWh), cleverly mounted in the vehicle’s underfloor to optimize weight distribution and agility. On a full charge, the MINI JCW Electric offers a WLTP range of up to 371 km, with consumption figures between 15.3 to 15.6 kWh/100 km, depending on the selected tyre size.

Rapid Charging, Zero Fuss

The vehicle supports fast DC charging up to 95 kW, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. AC charging is supported up to 11 kW (three-phase), making home or destination charging both quick and convenient.

Built for the Drive

The chassis is no less impressive. It features a single-joint strut front axle and a three-link rear axle, both built with lightweight steel or aluminium components. A full suite of driving stability systems including DSC, ABS, cornering brake control (CBC), and hill descent control ensures a composed yet playful ride.

Compact but Practical

Despite its sporty proportions — 3858 mm long, 1756 mm wide, and 1460 mm tall — the MINI JCW Electric seats four and offers a flexible luggage capacity ranging from 210 to 800 litres. It rides on 18-inch alloys wrapped in 225/40 R18 tyres, ensuring both style and grip.

Safety First

As expected from MINI, safety remains paramount. The JCW Electric includes multiple airbags, three-point seat belts with tensioners, tyre pressure monitoring, and crash sensors — all standard.
