In a major move to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption across North America, EV Connect, one of the largest charge point operators (CPOs) in the United States, has partnered with ChargeHub to add nearly 15,000 new public charging ports to Passport Hub — the continent’s leading EV roaming platform.
This strategic integration significantly expands the reach of both companies and provides millions of EV drivers with broader access to public charging stations, including via the popular ChargeHub app. The collaboration brings Passport Hub’s network to over 140,000 charging ports, covering nearly 78% of all CCS and J1772 networked stations in the U.S. and Canada.
Seamless Access Across Networks
As part of the Passport Hub, EV Connect’s stations will now be accessible through dozens of e-mobility service providers (eMSPs). This streamlined access model makes it easier than ever for drivers to locate and use charging infrastructure, regardless of their app or provider.“Roaming is no longer a nice-to-have. It is essential infrastructure for EV adoption,” said Cassie Layton, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing at EV Connect. “Through Passport Hub, we are extending the reach of our network while giving site hosts access to millions of new drivers. This partnership is about making public charging more accessible and boosting station utilization.”
Driving Toward a 100% Connected Charging Ecosystem
The partnership reflects a shared goal of building a unified and accessible charging ecosystem, where users no longer face the frustration of incompatible networks or fragmented services. “Welcoming EV Connect to Passport Hub reflects the strong momentum behind our mission,” said Simon Ouellette, CEO of ChargeHub. “With each new addition, we’re closing the gap toward 100% roaming coverage and expanding Passport Hub’s reach to deliver reliable roaming at scale.”
A Unified Push for EV Adoption
This announcement marks a significant leap forward for the EV industry, bringing together two major players to tackle one of the sector’s biggest pain points: fragmented infrastructure. By consolidating access through a single roaming platform, EV Connect and ChargeHub are removing friction from the public charging experience and paving the way for more widespread EV use.
