At the ChangeNow Summit, held from April 24 to 26, 2025, at the Grand Palais in Paris, Josep-Maria Recasens, Chief Strategy Officer of Renault Group and CEO of Ampere, and Cléa Martinet, Sustainability Director of Renault Group and Chief Sustainability Officer of Ampere, delivered a keynote address focused on the sustainability challenges and opportunities facing both Renault and the broader automotive industry in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Four years after the launch of its Renaulution strategic plan in 2021, Renault Group now offers 12 electric vehicles and has built a comprehensive electric ecosystem across Europe—furthering its mission to make electric mobility more accessible to all.”Renault Group’s commitment to sustainability has enabled us to meet the challenges facing the industry in recent years. We have embraced the electrical and software transition in an inclusive way, upgrading and reskilling our employees through ReKnow University. To counter the volatility of raw materials and China’s dominance in the refining of ores for batteries, we have invested in closed loops in Europe, with The Future Is NEUTRAL and the Refactory. And finally, we offer a range of affordable electric vehicles produced in France “. said Josep-Maria Recasens, Chief Strategy Officer of Renault Group and CEO of Ampere.

Sustainability is at the core of the Renaulution plan, where decarbonization is treated as a key performance indicator, on par with competitiveness and operational excellence. This cross-functional approach has already led to a 40% reduction in the Group’s CO₂e emissions during vehicle use, and a 50% reduction in industrial emissions between 2019 and 2024.

Looking ahead, Renault Group continues to push boundaries with Emblème, a concept family vehicle designed as a living, comfortable, high-tech space—while achieving groundbreaking environmental performance. Emblème emits 90% less CO₂e over its full lifecycle compared to the 2019 benchmark. More than just a concept, it serves as an innovation lab for future generations of Renault-brand vehicles.

Through bold strategy and tangible progress, Renault Group is reaffirming its leadership in sustainable mobility.
