Volkswagen has officially unveiled its latest concept car, the ID. EVERY1, a bold step toward democratizing electric mobility across Europe. With a projected launch in 2027 and a starting price of around €20,000, the ID. EVERY1 represents the German automaker’s vision of accessible, smart, and sustainable transportation for the masses.
Designed “from Europe for Europe,” the ID. EVERY1 is part of Volkswagen’s new Electric Urban Car Family, which focuses on compact, front-wheel-drive electric vehicles tailored for urban use. It follows the ID. 2all, another electric model slated for release in 2026 with a price point below €25,000.
A Car for the People – Reimagined
Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer emphasized the company’s commitment to offering a comprehensive and affordable portfolio in the high-volume segment. “The ID. EVERY1 is the last piece of the puzzle in our electric vehicle lineup,” Schäfer stated. “We aim to give every customer the right car with the right drive system – including affordable, entry-level electric mobility.”
With the ID. EVERY1, Volkswagen aims to carry forward the legacy of the Beetle and the up! – two icons that revolutionized affordable motoring. Designed to be both likeable and distinctive, the ID. EVERY1 features dynamic front lights and a cheerful rear design that reflect Volkswagen’s new design language.
Smart Tech, Long Life
The ID. EVERY1 is also Volkswagen’s first model to incorporate an all-new software architecture, enabling lifelong over-the-air updates and function upgrades – a move that prioritizes Customer Defined Vehicles. This means owners can personalize their vehicle even after purchase, a first in the brand’s history.
“Customer preferences are at the core of this vehicle’s development,” said Kai Grünitz, Board Member for Technical Development. “It’s about more than technology; it’s about flexibility and ongoing value for our customers.”
Compact Yet Capable
Measuring 3,880 mm in length, the ID. EVERY1 fits snugly between the retired up! and the current Polo. It offers seating for four and 305 litres of luggage space. Under the hood, a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) motor delivers a top speed of 130 km/h and a minimum range of 250 kilometers, making it an ideal urban commuter.
All models in the Electric Urban Car Family, including the ID. EVERY1, ID. 2all, and the sportier ID. GTI Concept, share the new MEB platform with electric front-wheel drive—a design that maximizes efficiency and interior space.
Volkswagen’s Roadmap to 2030
The ID. EVERY1 forms a crucial part of Volkswagen’s broader electrification campaign under its “Future Volkswagen” vision—an agreement between company leadership and employee representatives that sets ambitious targets for sustainability, technological leadership, and economic growth.
Volkswagen has laid out a three-phase strategy:
Advance: Boost competitiveness and diversify the model range.
Attack: Launch nine new models by 2027, including four based on the MEB platform.
Achieve: Solidify Volkswagen’s status as the leading global volume EV manufacturer by 2030.
With its strong legacy, innovative design, and a clear mission to make electric vehicles accessible to all, Volkswagen’s ID. EVERY1 could well be the next game-changer in the EV space—proving once again that the brand remains true to its identity: a car for everyone.
