Volkswagen is levelling up in-car entertainment with the addition of the PAC-MAN Championship Edition to its AirConsole In-Car App, now available in select models. Passengers can enjoy the game on the vehicle’s infotainment display while parked—using a smartphone as the controller.

In a first for the automotive industry, Volkswagen integrates dynamic ambient lighting with the gameplay. In compatible ID. models, the ID. Light system also reacts to in-game actions, creating an immersive environment that blends classic gaming with modern car tech.

The updated PAC-MAN Championship Edition sticks to the beloved gameplay from the 1980s—navigating mazes, eating dots, and dodging ghosts—while introducing Volkswagen-themed bonus elements. Players can score extra points by interacting with silhouettes of iconic models like the Beetle, VW Bus, and Golf IV R32, as well as symbols for GTI, GTX, R, and VW wheel rims. Power pellets? They’re now shaped like the Volkswagen logo, giving a fun brand twist to the retro classic.

The AirConsole In-Car App is available across many European markets and supports Volkswagen’s ID.7, ID.5, ID.4, and ID.3 models (from ID. Software 4.0 onwards), as well as the Tayron, Tiguan, Passat, Golf Variant, and Golf(model year 2025 and later).
