In March 2025, India’s electric bus market showed moderate activity, with Switch Mobility maintaining its leadership position. The company sold 113 electric buses during the month, securing a market share of 40.8%. Olectra Greentech Limited continued to perform well, selling 76 units and capturing 27.4% of the market, highlighting its consistent presence in the sector.
A notable development came from AerOEagle Automobiles, which sold 28 electric buses, achieving a 10% market share. The company’s strong showing marks it as a fast-emerging player in the electric bus segment, drawing attention as a potential game-changer in the near future.
In contrast, some well-established names saw a decline in their monthly sales. PMI Electro Mobility registered 25 units, while Tata Motors followed closely with 24 units. Both companies, known for their previous contributions to the electric bus space, experienced a dip in their market share this month.
JBM Group managed to sell only 4 units in March 2025. However, the company continues to hold a significant number of operational units in Telangana, indicating that it may still be influential in regional markets despite low national sales this month.
The latest figures suggest that the electric bus market in India is gradually evolving, with newer companies entering and competing strongly alongside traditional leaders. The trend points to a more diverse and competitive phase ahead in the country’s clean public transport transition.
