Cadillac is raising the bar for in-car entertainment with the debut of the all-electric 2025 OPTIQ, featuring a standard 19-speaker AKG Audio System integrated with Dolby Atmos. This premium sound system delivers a multi-dimensional, studio-quality audio experience, making the OPTIQ a haven for music lovers.
The new luxury crossover isn’t just turning heads with its sleek design and dual motor all-wheel drive — it’s also setting new standards in how drivers and passengers experience music on the road. With Dolby Atmos, listeners are immersed in sound from every direction, revealing musical details with unmatched clarity and depth.
“This is the same channel format music studios mix in — 7.1.4,” said John Cockburn, chief engineer of the OPTIQ. “Seven speakers are placed near ear level, one for bass, and four overhead. It’s more than just speaker count — it’s about precise placement and seamless integration.”
Cockburn revealed that Dolby was closely involved in developing the system, working with GM engineers to ensure the final product replicates the artist’s original intent. The vehicle’s infotainment system — powered by GM’s advanced software and OnStar connectivity — also supports popular entertainment apps like Amazon Music, Spotify, and Hulu.
The OPTIQ is the first Cadillac to offer Dolby Atmos, but it won’t be the last. Starting in 2026, Cadillac’s entire EV lineup will support Dolby Atmos as an available feature. Select 2025 and 2026 models, including the Cadillac VISTIQ, will also support Amazon Music with Dolby Atmos integration.
“Cadillac is synonymous with the music industry,” Cockburn said, recalling visits to studios where producers and artists often use Cadillacs — especially the Escalade — for their crucial “car check” listening tests. “A lot of people hear an artist’s track for the first time in a car. We wanted to make sure they could experience Atmos mixes as they were meant to be heard.”
The result? A vehicle that doesn’t just move you — it puts you in the middle of your favorite songs, just as the artist intended.
