Hyundai Motor Company has officially launched the all-new NEXO fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at the Seoul Mobility Show, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of hydrogen-powered transportation. The second-generation NEXO, a cutting-edge mid-size SUV, boasts enhanced efficiency, safety, and design, reinforcing Hyundai’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
With a targeted range of over 700 km from a five-minute charge, the NEXO integrates advanced fuel cell technology, ensuring zero tailpipe emissions. The vehicle’s improved powertrain delivers an output of 190 kW, a notable increase from its predecessor, while advancements in aerodynamics and regenerative braking enhance efficiency and performance.
Aesthetically, the NEXO embraces Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language, combining strength with elegance. The exterior features bold lines, HTWO Lamps, and six premium color options, including the Korea-inspired ‘Goyo Copper Pearl.’ Inside, the SUV offers a spacious, tech-laden cabin with premium materials, an intuitive infotainment system, and sustainable elements such as bio-process leather and recycled PET fabric.
Hyundai has also prioritized safety and convenience, incorporating an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and innovative features like a digital side mirror system, fingerprint authentication, and a high-speed dual wireless charging system. The NEXO’s Smart Regenerative System (SRS) further enhances efficiency by adjusting braking based on navigation data and road conditions.
“The all-new NEXO reflects Hyundai Motor’s 27 years of leadership in fuel cell technology, offering an advanced and sustainable mobility solution,” said Hyundai Motor Company. “With superior hydrogen fuel storage capacity and next-gen safety features, NEXO sets new benchmarks in the FCEV segment.”
Set to hit global markets later this year, the all-new NEXO underscores Hyundai’s commitment to hydrogen-powered mobility and a diversified electrification strategy.
