Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) closed FY 2024-25 with total sales of 7,62,052 units, reinforcing its position as the second-largest passenger vehicle OEM in India. The company’s domestic sales stood at 5,98,666 units, while exports accounted for 1,63,386 units.
In March 2025 alone, Hyundai recorded 67,320 unit sales, marking a 2.6% YoY growth. This included 51,820 units sold domestically and 15,500 units exported.
SUVs Drive Hyundai’s Success
Hyundai’s SUV portfolio remained a key growth driver, with the launch of the Hyundai CRETA Electric, the company’s first indigenous EV, and the refreshed Hyundai ALCAZAR strengthening its market appeal. The new Hyundai CRETA emerged as India’s No.1 SUV, with 52,898 units sold in Q4 FY25.
The company also achieved two major milestones:
- 2.5 million cumulative SUV sales (domestic + exports).
- 1.5 million Hyundai CRETA sales since inception.
Commenting on Hyundai’s performance, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO, HMIL, said,

Looking Ahead: Strengthening Hyundai’s Market Position
With a strong focus on SUVs and electrification, Hyundai Motor India is set to expand its market footprint in FY26, leveraging its growing portfolio of EVs and feature-rich SUVs.
