Raptee.HV, an emerging leader in India’s electric vehicle (EV) sector, has achieved a significant milestone by securing certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its revolutionary T30 motorcycle. The T30 is India’s first electric two-wheeler to incorporate high-voltage (HV) technology typically used in electric cars, making it the only electric bike in the country compatible with CCS2 DC fast-charging standards.

ARAI certification is a critical regulatory requirement in India, ensuring that vehicles comply with safety, performance, and environmental standards before they can be legally registered and sold. Raptee.HV’s groundbreaking achievement sets a new benchmark in the Indian two-wheeler industry, offering riders an advanced, high-performance electric alternative.

Industry-First Innovation

Since its inception in 2019, Raptee.HV has been committed to pioneering global EV technology at an optimized cost for Indian and international consumers. With the launch of the T30 in October 2024, the company has already garnered over 8,000 registrations, aligning with its first-year sales target of $25 million.

Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-Founder of Raptee.HV, remarked, “We are setting a precedent here, and we believe the entire motorcycle ecosystem will inevitably transition to high-voltage technology, just as the electric car industry has. Developing an entirely new architecture required us to not only design subcomponents but also establish new performance, safety, and validation standards, co-create the supplier ecosystem, and work closely with regulatory bodies. While it took us six years to perfect this architecture, we are now positioned to launch a new motorcycle model every 12 months.”

T30: A Game-Changer in the EV Market

The T30 has been engineered to deliver a riding experience comparable to a 300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle. Its high-voltage powertrain, advanced ride dynamics, and industry-leading software features give it a competitive edge over conventional ICE and existing EV two-wheelers. One of its biggest accomplishments is achieving price parity with its ICE counterparts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.39 lakh. Additionally, EV subsidies and reduced operating costs make it an even more cost-effective alternative.

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer of Raptee.HV, stated, “This ARAI certification is a true testament to the dedication of our team over the past six years. Our high-voltage technology not only enhances the riding experience but also addresses key EV concerns such as reliability and charging anxiety. Entering the mid-size motorcycle segment with a globally recognized technology ensures that the T30 has a natural market fit beyond India.”

Unparalleled Charging Convenience & Reliability

One of the T30’s key differentiators is its unmatched charging convenience, both at home and on the go. As the first two-wheeler in India to access the country’s rapidly expanding DC fast-charging network, which currently includes over 22,000 stations, the T30 sets new industry standards. Additional benefits include ultra-fast charging speeds, a powerful onboard charger, and a lightweight, portable external charging cable for enhanced usability.

Addressing reliability concerns often associated with electric two-wheelers, the T30 incorporates robust automotive-grade technology. The motorcycle comes with an industry-leading 8-year battery warranty, a standard seen in electric cars but unprecedented in the two-wheeler segment.

Market Expansion & Investment Plans

Raptee.HV is set to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore, with phased expansion into other cities. While India remains the primary focus, the T30’s compatibility with global CCS2 DC fast-charging infrastructure positions it well for international markets.

Following a successful funding round in October 2023, led by Blue Hill Capital and Artha 99, Raptee.HV is now in discussions to raise an additional $19 million. The new investment will support the company’s working capital needs and aggressive expansion strategy.

With its cutting-edge technology, competitive pricing, and industry-first innovations, the T30 is poised to disrupt not only the Indian two-wheeler market but also the global EV landscape.
