Volkswagen has long provided affordable, compact, and beloved cars, beginning with the Beetle. Now, the German automaker is expanding its electric lineup with the ID. EVERY1 concept, an entry-level EV set to launch in 2027 with a starting price of around €20,000. Ahead of this, the ID. 2all, positioned in the €25,000 class, will hit the market in 2026.
Both models are part of Volkswagen’s new Electric Urban Car Family, developed under the Brand Group Core, which includes the volume brands of the Volkswagen Group. They will feature front-wheel drive and be built on Volkswagen’s next-generation MEB platform, designed for optimal space efficiency and maximum performance.
A European EV for Urban Mobility
Volkswagen’s goal is to deliver attractive, European-made electric mobility for European markets. By 2026, the brand will offer one of the most diverse portfolios in the high-volume segment, spanning efficient combustion engines, advanced hybrids, and all-electric models.
Like the ID. 2all and the ID. GTI Concept, the ID. EVERY1 is built on the modular electric drive (MEB) platform. Its electric front-wheel drive maximizes space utilization and efficiency. The concept vehicle is powered by a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) motor, with a top speed of 130 km/h and a range of at least 250 km.
Compact Yet Spacious
At 3,880 mm in length, the ID. EVERY1 is positioned between the former up! (3,600 mm), the ID. 2all (4,050 mm), and the current Polo (4,074 mm). Despite its compact footprint, it comfortably accommodates four passengers and offers a 305-liter luggage capacity, making it a practical and versatile choice for city driving.
With its commitment to affordable and efficient EVs, Volkswagen continues to democratize electric mobility, ensuring more people can transition to sustainable driving. Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars commented, “The ID. EVERY1 is the last piece of the puzzle on our journey to having the widest model selection in the volume segment. We will then offer every customer the right car with the right drive system – including affordable entry-level all-electric mobility,” says Schäfer. “Our goal: We will expand our position as the world’s leading volume manufacturer in terms of technology by 2030. And as a brand for everyone – just as you would expect from Volkswagen.” “In the future models, we talk about Customer Defined Vehicles. The ID. EVERY1 shows that we are putting our customers, their wishes, interests and preferences at the centre of vehicle development more consistently than ever,” said Kai Grünitz, member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Technical Development.
