Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. EVERY1, a concept car that previews the German automaker’s vision for an affordable all-electric vehicle, set to launch in 2027 with a starting price of around €20,000. Designed “from Europe, for Europe,” the compact EV aims to make sustainable mobility accessible to a broader audience, complementing the upcoming ID. 2all, which will debut in 2026 at an estimated €25,000.
A New Era of Affordable EVs
With the ID. EVERY1, Volkswagen continues its tradition of producing compact, practical, and budget-friendly vehicles, much like the iconic Beetle and Up!. The concept is part of the brand’s Electric Urban Car Family, developed under Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core, which also oversees other high-volume models across the Volkswagen Group.
Smart, Flexible, and Always Up to Date
The ID. EVERY1 introduces a new software architecture, enabling lifelong updates and upgrades. This approach ensures that even after purchase, owners can customize their vehicles with new features, making the car future-proof.
“We are putting our customers at the center of development more than ever before,” said Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Board Member for Technical Development. “The ID. EVERY1 will be the first in our lineup to feature a fundamentally new, powerful software system.”
Design That Blends Innovation with Character
Volkswagen’s Head of Design, Andreas Mindt, describes the ID. EVERY1 as “bold yet accessible.” The car’s dynamic front lights and smiling rear design lend it a friendly yet confident identity, making it more than just another electric vehicle.
The concept measures 3,880 mm in length, placing it between the former Up! (3,600 mm) and the current Polo (4,074 mm). Despite its compact size, it boasts a spacious interior for four passengers and a 305-liter luggage compartment, emphasizing practicality for urban driving.
New Electric Platform for Maximum Efficiency
Built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive (MEB) platform with front-wheel drive, the ID. EVERY1 is powered by a 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor and can reach a top speed of 130 km/h. The vehicle offers a minimum range of 250 km, making it ideal for city commutes and short trips.
Volkswagen’s Future Strategy: Nine New Models by 2027
The ID. EVERY1 is a key part of Volkswagen’s three-phase future plan, aimed at strengthening its position as a leading high-volume manufacturer in the EV sector:
Advance (2025): Strengthening the brand’s competitiveness and revealing further previews of the Electric Urban Car Family.
Attack (2026-2027): Launching nine new models, including the ID. 2all and ID. EVERY1, expanding the EV portfolio.
Achieve (2030): Volkswagen aims to become the most technologically advanced volume automaker, producing safe, innovative, and best-selling electric vehicles.
With a commitment to affordable electrification, Volkswagen is poised to redefine entry-level EV ownership in Europe. The ID. EVERY1 represents a significant step forward in Volkswagen’s mission to provide sustainable, accessible, and future-ready mobility for all.
