SIAM Showcases Green Mobility at India Energy Week 2025, Inaugurated by Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, inaugurated the SIAM Sustainable Mobility Pavilion at India Energy Week (IEW) 2025. The pavilion, hosted by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), is themed “People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem” and is open from 11th to 14th February 2025 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. It showcases the latest advancements in green mobility and decarbonization from the Indian automobile industry.

During his visit, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri explored 15 production-ready vehicles and advanced technologies across various fuel and powertrain solutions. These included Flex Fuel, Gas, Compressed Bio Gas, Pure Electric, and Hydrogen-powered vehicles. Leading automobile manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Suzuki Motorcycle India have exhibited their innovations at the pavilion, reflecting a multi-pathway approach to sustainable mobility.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the crucial role of the Indian automobile industry in the country’s energy transition. He stated that innovations in alternative fuels and electrification are making a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions in transportation. He emphasized that platforms like India Energy Week foster collaboration between the energy and mobility sectors, helping India achieve its sustainability goals.

Mr. Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director of SIAM, expressed appreciation for the minister’s visit, emphasizing the strong partnership between the government and the automobile industry in building a greener future. He reiterated SIAM’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions that align with India’s vision of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070.

India Energy Week 2025 is a key initiative under the G20 Presidency and serves as a global platform for discussions on energy transition. The event is hosting more than 20 Foreign Energy Ministers, over 90 CEOs from global energy companies, and 70,000 delegates from 120 countries. It provides an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on sustainable energy solutions.

SIAM’s participation in the event reinforces its dedication to promoting green mobility and supporting India’s long-term sustainability targets. Visitors to India Energy Week 2025 can explore the industry’s decarbonization efforts at the SIAM Sustainable Mobility Pavilion, located in Hall No. 1 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi.
