Volvo has officially introduced the EX30 Cross Country, a fully electric small SUV designed for adventure seekers. Unveiled during an intimate fireside chat in northern Sweden, the EX30 Cross Country is not just a car but an entire experience aimed at those eager to explore beyond city limits.

A New Era of Cross Country Driving

Volvo’s legacy of durable, all-weather vehicles continues with the EX30 Cross Country, which is engineered to tackle some of the most challenging terrains. The vehicle features enhanced ground clearance, larger wheels, and an 18-inch all-terrain accessory tire option. With all-wheel drive and improved off-road capability, this model is built to handle harsh winters and rugged landscapes alike.

“We launched our first Cross Country car over 25 years ago, and this concept of durable and all-weather cars is core to the Volvo brand,” said Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars. “In Sweden, we embrace nature year-round, even in extreme cold. That’s why we’re delivering a complete experience, not just a car, to our EX30 Cross Country customers.”

Designed for Versatility

The EX30 Cross Country retains the sleek, urban-friendly profile of its predecessor while incorporating rugged enhancements. It boasts a range of up to 427 km on a full charge and can recharge from 10-80% in just 26 minutes. This ensures seamless transitions between city commutes and countryside adventures.

Distinctive Styling and Features

The EX30 Cross Country’s design sets it apart, featuring a dark-colored front shield and boot lid, along with an artistic topographical map of Sweden’s Kebnekaise mountain range. Chunky skid plates and wheel arch extensions further emphasize its rugged nature.

Inside, the SUV offers smart storage solutions, including large door compartments, a slide-out central storage tunnel, and a removable rear storage box. The vehicle comes with Google built-in, featuring Google Maps and an app for remote car preconditioning.

Safety and Innovation

True to Volvo’s reputation, the EX30 Cross Country prioritizes safety with advanced braking and steering support, driver monitoring sensors, and collision avoidance technology for pedestrians, cyclists, and oncoming vehicles.

The Cross Country Experience

To complement the EX30 Cross Country, Volvo is launching an exclusive ‘Cross Country Experience’ package. This includes accessories like a load carrier, a roof basket, and all-terrain tires, helping customers maximize their outdoor adventures.

“We know that more and more people are seeking ways to get closer to nature,” said Rowan. “This is why our new Cross Country Experience creates an ecosystem around these models, supporting customers as they embrace adventure.”

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is now available for order in select markets, with deliveries set to begin later this spring.
