Hyundai Motor Company has showcased groundbreaking Micro Mobility Concept EVs at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, reaffirming its commitment to India’s evolving transportation landscape. The company is exploring a collaboration with TVS Motor Company to develop advanced electric three-wheelers and micro four-wheelers aimed at transforming last-mile connectivity in Indian cities.

Under the potential collaboration, Hyundai Motor will provide design, engineering, and technology expertise, while TVS Motor will explore manufacturing and marketing of the proposed vehicles. This initiative seeks to contribute to India’s growing mobility market with sustainable and adaptable transportation solutions.

Speaking about the initiative, SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design, emphasized Hyundai’s focus on designing micro-mobility solutions tailored for India.

“Hyundai Motor is a customer-centric brand, and caring for people in India is our first mission. This commitment has driven us to explore designing micro-mobility solutions tailored to India’s unique environment, reimagining the iconic three-wheeler to enhance mobility experiences through thoughtful design,” he said.

Hyundai’s Electric Three-Wheeler Concept reimagines India’s iconic auto-rickshaw, offering versatility for passenger transport, logistics, and emergency response. Key features include:

Adjustable body height to navigate waterlogged streets during monsoons.
Angled windshield for improved visibility and collision protection.
Flat floor and extended wheelbase for enhanced comfort and ergonomics.
Large tires and towing hook for better maneuverability on rough terrains.
Foldable seat for wheelchair users, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity.
The Micro Four-Wheeler Concept, currently under review, is being explored for global markets, integrating Hyundai’s advanced design principles with sustainable materials and modular adaptability.

India-Specific Features and Sustainable Design
Hyundai’s human-centered engineering approach is evident in the design of these micro-mobility solutions. Aakaashi Blue, the chosen color, symbolizes the Indian Ocean and boundless sky, representing stability, depth, and ambition. The company is also exploring heat-reducing gloss black paint for the roof to minimize interior heat conductivity and water-resistant materials to withstand India’s climatic conditions.
