FADA Auto Summit 2025: Pioneering a Future of Safe, Efficient, and Sustainable Mobility

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) inaugurated the 13th edition of the Auto Summit 2025, a prestigious annual convention now aligned with the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Under the theme “Safe, Efficient & Sustainable: Shaping Tomorrow’s Mobility,” the summit highlighted the evolving landscape of India’s automobile retail sector, addressing critical challenges and opportunities.

The event, often referred to as the “Maha Kumbh” of the Indian automobile retail industry, saw the presence of Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries, as the Chief Guest. Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, addressed the audience virtually as the Guest of Honour, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the sector.

Insights from Industry Leaders
The summit brought together over 75 eminent speakers across 20 sessions, featuring participation from government officials, manufacturers, dealers, industry analysts, and thought leaders. Discussions revolved around road safety, operational efficiency, and the transition to sustainable mobility.

Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy underscored the importance of safety, with a focus on improving road infrastructure, adopting advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. He highlighted the sector’s achievements, including a 9% growth in vehicle sales in 2024, reaching 26.1 million units, and the rapid rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales to 14,08,245 units.

Shri Nitin Gadkari shared his vision for a self-reliant automotive sector. He noted, “India’s automobile industry has grown exponentially, contributing ₹22 lakh crore to the economy and surpassing Japan globally. With our focus on clean energy solutions like ethanol, biodiesel, hydrogen, and electric vehicles, we aim to reduce fossil fuel dependency while generating up to 4 crore jobs in the sector.”

He also highlighted innovative projects like ropeway cable cars and flash-charging buses, showcasing India’s advancements in urban mass transport and sustainability.

Industry’s Commitment to Sustainability
FADA President, Mr. C S Vigneshwar, celebrated the resilience of the sector and its commitment to shaping a sustainable future. He emphasized the importance of road safety, efficiency, and the adoption of green technologies, aligning with India’s vision for cleaner mobility.

He lauded government initiatives like FAME I and II and the PM eDrive program as vital steps in achieving a greener automotive landscape, pledging FADA’s support for these efforts.

Prominent industry figures, including Mr. Saugato Bhowmik, Director of CPG & D2C Automotive Meta India, and Mr. Kartick V Nagpal, President of Rosmerta Group, emphasized the transformative role of technology and innovation in shaping future mobility.

Their insights added depth to the discussions on leveraging digital tools and advanced systems to ensure the Indian automobile industry’s competitiveness on the global stage.
The summit’s theme “Safe, Efficient & Sustainable: Shaping Tomorrow’s Mobility” served as a call to action for the industry to prioritize safety, enhance operational efficiency, and transition to sustainable mobility solutions.
