Hyundai IONIQ 5 takes part in GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car

Hyundai Motor Company’s revolutionary electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5, has achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car. This historic accomplishment was organized by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in collaboration with the professional team from Evo India.

The IONIQ 5 registered a remarkable altitude change of 5,802 meters, starting from the world’s highest drivable point, Umling La in Leh Ladakh (5,799 meters above sea level), and concluding in Kuttanad, Kerala, situated three meters below sea level. The journey spanned 14 days, covering over 4,900 kilometers across India’s diverse and challenging terrains.

Throughout the expedition, the IONIQ 5 showcased its exceptional resilience, cutting-edge technology, and superior performance, navigating freezing Himalayan temperatures, steep mountain passes, and the humid coastal regions of Kerala with ease.
