Hyundai IONIQ 5 takes part in GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car

Hyundai Motor Company’s award-winning IONIQ 5 recently participated in a prestigious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title attempt for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car. Organized by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and driven by the professional team from Evo India, the IONIQ 5 achieved a remarkable altitude change of 5,802 meters. The journey began at India’s highest drivable point, Umling La in Leh Ladakh, situated 5,799 meters above sea level, and ended in Kuttanad, Kerala, which is three meters below sea level. Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India Limited said, “We are incredibly proud to see the Hyundai IONIQ 5 create history by achieving the Guinness World Record™ for the Greatest altitude change by an electric car. The record-setting feat was completed over 14 days, covering more than 4,900 km of challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions. This achievement highlighted the IONIQ 5’s durability, advanced technology, and exceptional performance. From freezing temperatures and steep mountain passes in the Himalayas to the humid coastal climate of Kerala, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 proved its capabilities as a leader in electric mobility.
