Suzuki Partners with iACE to Drive Sustainable Mobility with “Project VmeM

In a significant step towards addressing social issues and promoting sustainable mobility, Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited (SRDI), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE). The collaboration, titled “Project VmeM (Versatile micro e-Mobility)”, leverages Suzuki’s innovative platform concept to develop sustainable and versatile micro electric mobility solutions.

The MoU was signed by iACE Chairman and Gujarat Industries Commissioner Sandip J. Sagale and SRDI Executive Director Mayur Shah in a ceremony graced by prominent dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Shizuoka Governor Yasutomo Suzuki, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Rakeshkumar Jain, Hamamatsu Mayor Yusuke Nakano, and Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki.

iACE, an institution based in Gujarat, is renowned for fostering education, innovation, and skill development among students and industry professionals. The collaboration aims to integrate Suzuki’s expertise in vehicle manufacturing technologies with cutting-edge innovations from startups to explore new utilization methods and create sustainable business models.

Through Project VmeM, Suzuki seeks to harness its Versatile micro e-Mobility Platform to address societal challenges in India while contributing to the development of local communities and a sustainable future. The partnership highlights the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving solutions for pressing global challenges like urban mobility, sustainability, and community development.
