Borzo (formerly WeFast), a global intracity delivery company, has introduced an electric 3-wheeler fleet to enhance sustainable logistics solutions in urban areas. This initiative aims to provide businesses and local customers with eco-friendly delivery options while improving flexibility and efficiency in the volumetric delivery segment.
In the initial phase, the electric 3-wheelers will be deployed in Mumbai, with plans to expand to Delhi. These vehicles are designed to handle lightweight deliveries of up to 500 kilograms. As part of its broader sustainability strategy, Borzo intends to electrify 30% of its 3-wheeler fleet, with plans to include 4-wheelers, such as mini trucks and tempos, which can support loads of up to 750 kilograms.
To ensure smooth operations, Borzo will onboard gig delivery partners who own their vehicles, offering them flexible work schedules while maintaining high operational efficiency. The company will also collaborate with electric vehicle (EV) service providers to enhance reliability and performance. This initiative aligns with Borzo’s goal of reducing carbon emissions and operating an eco-friendly logistics network.
The pilot phase of the electric 3-wheelers in Mumbai will allow Borzo to monitor vehicle performance and collaborate with service providers to uphold operational standards. The company aims to gradually increase EV supply in Mumbai and Delhi, targeting 1,000 deliveries daily, with at least 30% of these using electric vehicles.
Commenting on the initiative, Borzo CEO Alina Kisina stated, “Entering the 3-wheeler and truck market was a strategic move to provide versatile and cost-effective delivery solutions. By integrating electric 3-wheelers into our fleet, we are advancing our sustainability goals and offering cleaner, quieter, and more efficient delivery methods.”
In addition to electrifying its fleet, Borzo plans to promote its new 3-wheeler and truck delivery services with aggressive marketing strategies, including promo codes for B2B clients. The company recently began operations of 3-wheeler, mini truck, and tempo deliveries, aiming to onboard 1,500 delivery partners for this segment.
Currently, Borzo operates a fleet of over 60,000 delivery partners across India, catering to hyperlocal and SME logistics needs.
