BMW Group Plant Regensburg has hit a significant milestone by producing its 100,000th fully-electric vehicle in 2024, a BMW iX1 finished in Blue Bay Lagoon metallic. The milestone was celebrated in the presence of Milan Nedeljković, BMW AG Board Member for Production. The vehicle is destined for La Réunion, marking the plant’s global reach.

Since November 2022, the plant has manufactured premium compact models like the BMW iX1 and iX2 for worldwide customers. Plant Director Armin Ebner praised the team for achieving projected growth in 2024 amidst challenging market conditions. “Over a third of the vehicles produced this year were electrified,” Ebner noted, with 2024 production set to exceed 330,000 units, up from 238,301 in 2023.

The plant’s transformation into a digital and sustainable manufacturing hub, aligned with BMW’s “iFactory” vision, was recognized with accolades such as the “FACTORY OF THE YEAR 2024” award. Ebner attributed the success to the dedication of the plant team and its partners.
