Terra Charge Powers Bhopal’s First Airport EV Hub In Partnership With AAI

Terra Charge, in partnership with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), launched its first airport EV charging hub at Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal on November 29, 2024. The hub, located in the airport parking area, is designed to enhance electric vehicle accessibility in the region. The facility covers 75 square meters and features both a slow charger with Japanese technology and a 30-kW fast charger. It can charge up to four electric vehicles at a time, catering to the needs of both public users and commercial fleets.

Apurba Das Mohapatra, Business Director of Terra Charge, highlighted the significance of the collaboration during the inauguration ceremony. He expressed pride in working with AAI to promote sustainable infrastructure and support electric mobility at a crucial location like Bhopal’s airport. He also acknowledged key contributors, including AAI officials Ramjee Awasthi, Airport Director, K.P.S. Sikarwar, AGM Commercial, and Nidhi Shrivastava, Manager Commercial, for their support in bringing the project to life. Mohapatra emphasized the importance of the initiative in encouraging more people to adopt electric vehicles and enhancing convenience for EV owners.

The charging hub is already operational, offering convenience to EV owners and fleet operators in Bhopal. Users can locate the facility through the Terra Charge Mobile App. Terra Charge is also working on similar projects across the country to expand India’s charging network. With the growing demand for electric vehicles, the company aims to support the government’s vision for sustainable transport and infrastructure development. The EV market in India is projected to reach USD 23.38 billion in 2024, further driving the need for accessible charging solutions.
