The Cadillac LYRIQ has emerged as a dominant force in the luxury electric vehicle (EV) market, topping its segment in sales across the United States during the first three quarters of 2024. With more than 20,000 units sold between January and September, the LYRIQ’s popularity underscores the growing demand for all-electric luxury SUVs that combine performance, range, and affordability.
California led the charge with over 3,000 units sold, followed closely by Florida and Texas, each surpassing 2,000 sales. Buyers are drawn to the LYRIQ’s EPA-estimated 314-mile range, its sleek design, and a competitive starting MSRP of $58,590. The ability to add up to 77 miles of range in just 10 minutes via public DC fast charging has further cemented its appeal among EV enthusiasts.
Highlighting innovation, the LYRIQ offers Cadillac’s Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance technology, alongside a sophisticated interior that blends comfort with cutting-edge technology.
This success sets the stage for Cadillac’s expanding EV portfolio. By the end of 2024, the lineup will include the ultra-luxury ESCALADE IQ and the entry-level OPTIQ SUV. In 2025, the three-row VISTIQ SUV will debut, positioning Cadillac as one of the few automakers with an all-electric luxury SUV in every segment.
Part of General Motors’ ambitious EV strategy, the LYRIQ has contributed to GM surpassing 300,000 EV sales in 2024. With the high-performance LYRIQ-V slated for a 2026 release, Cadillac is poised to strengthen its leadership in the luxury EV market.
The LYRIQ’s stellar performance highlights a pivotal shift in consumer preferences as more drivers embrace the practicality and sophistication of electric mobility.
