Hyundai Motor Company today debuted the IONIQ 9, a groundbreaking three-row all-electric SUV, at the iconic Goldstein House in LA. Designed to set new standards in electric mobility, the IONIQ 9 boasts expansive interior space, cutting-edge technology, and a sleek, aerodynamic design.
“IONIQ 9 embodies Hyundai Motor’s unwavering commitment to electrification,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “With its outstanding interior space and advanced features, the IONIQ 9 solidifies Hyundai’s leadership in the global EV market.”
A Spacious Revolution
Built on Hyundai’s acclaimed Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 9 provides unmatched roominess, accommodating up to seven passengers. Its innovative flat-floor design allows for flexible seating arrangements, including fully reclining Relaxation Seats with Dynamic Body Care massage functionality. Second-row Swiveling Seats enable a lounge-like atmosphere, ideal for family interaction during stationary moments.
The Universal Island 2.0 sliding console adds convenience, while the cargo space impresses with up to 1,323 liters of capacity with the rear seats folded.
Sleek ‘Aerosthetic’ Design
The IONIQ 9’s futuristic design features a smooth curved roofline and Hyundai’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting. A low drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd and aerodynamic enhancements contribute to an estimated WLTP range of 620 km for the Long-Range RWD model with 19-inch wheels.
The SUV also introduces a minimalist approach by integrating the roof antenna into the windshield and tailgate glass. Exterior choices include 16 colors, with new hues like Celadon Gray and Cosmic Blue Pearl.
Performance and Efficiency
The IONIQ 9 features a high-capacity 110.3 kWh battery, offering fast charging from 10-80% in just 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger. Available in three powertrains, the Performance AWD model reaches 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, while the Long-Range RWD variant delivers maximum efficiency.
Innovative technologies, such as an EV Route Planner and Hyundai AI Assistant, enhance the driving experience. Hyundai’s V2L feature and over-the-air updates ensure the SUV remains future-ready.
Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance
IONIQ 9 is equipped with Hyundai’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including collision prevention, torque vectoring, and lateral wind stability control. Enhanced structural safety ensures battery protection, while noise and vibration reduction features create a serene cabin environment.
Global Rollout
Set to launch in Korea and the U.S. in early 2025, with a later rollout in Europe and other markets, the IONIQ 9 promises to reshape customer expectations for family-friendly EVs. Detailed specifications will be unveiled closer to market availability.
With the IONIQ 9, Hyundai combines elegance, innovation, and practicality, creating an EV that truly feels ‘Built to Belong.’
