Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported impressive sales figures for October 2024, reaching a total of 70,078 units, marking its third-highest monthly sales since inception. Domestic sales accounted for 55,568 units, also the third-highest in HMIL’s history, with exports at 14,510 units. The company’s year-to-date (YTD) sales for January to October 2024 reached 647,789 units, a slight increase over the same period last year.
A strong demand for SUVs led to HMIL’s highest-ever monthly SUV sales of 37,902 units in October. The Hyundai CRETA set a new record with 17,497 units sold domestically, underscoring its popularity. SUVs contributed 68.2% to HMIL’s total domestic sales, a testament to the growing preference for this segment across both urban and rural markets.
HMIL also achieved a milestone in CNG sales, recording its highest monthly sales of 8,261 units, which contributed 14.9% to domestic sales. The increased adoption of HMIL’s Hy-CNG technology highlights the company’s commitment to offering sustainable options in the Indian market.
Commenting on the strong performance, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, stated, “The festive period saw robust demand for our SUV lineup, with record-breaking sales of the Hyundai CRETA and our highest-ever SUV sales. The high penetration of SUVs in our domestic sales and the record CNG sales reflect Hyundai’s commitment to providing quality and performance to all our customers.”
