Suzuki Motor Corporation, through its subsidiary Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, has entered into agreements with two major dairy industry unions—Amul Dairy (Anand) and Dudhsagar Dairy (Mehsana)—to establish new biogas production plants. This initiative is part of Suzuki’s ongoing collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to promote biogas production in India.

The announcement was made during NDDB’s 60th anniversary celebration on October 22, attended by Amul Dairy President Amit Vyas, Dudhsagar Dairy Executive Director Pravin Bhambi, NDDB Director S Rajeev, and Suzuki Managing Officer Kenichiro Toyofuku. The event was graced by India’s Minister of Home Affairs, H.E. Amit Shah, and the Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, who expressed their support for the initiative.

Suzuki’s ongoing efforts, alongside NDDB and Banas Dairy, aim to establish five biogas plants that convert cow dung into automotive fuel, promoting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. With the latest agreements, the company plans to expand its biogas production footprint in Gujarat.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure while supporting the dairy sector’s contribution to a greener economy.
