Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced that its compact SUV, the FRONX, has achieved a new industry benchmark by reaching the 2-lakh sales mark in just 17.3 months since its launch in April 2023. The feat follows the earlier milestone of being the fastest new model to reach 1 lakh sales in January 2024, taking only 10 months to do so. The subsequent 1 lakh units were sold in a mere 7.3 months, further underscoring the SUV’s popularity.
The FRONX’s rapid sales growth can be attributed to its striking design, advanced technology, and multiple powertrain options. Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at MSIL, highlighted the success, stating, “The remarkable success of the FRONX reflects Maruti Suzuki’s understanding of evolving customer expectations and our efforts to deliver products that exceed them. With a notable 16% year-on-year growth in FY25, this compact SUV has captured the attention of first-time buyers while becoming the preferred choice for those upgrading within the segment.”
The FRONX has found significant traction among customers in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, with Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kochi, and Bengaluru emerging as top markets. Notably, the FRONX Turbo variant has seen a surge in demand, appealing to customers seeking a more spirited driving experience. The SUV’s tech-loaded cabin features a 22.86 cm (9″) HD Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Head-Up Display, 360-degree camera, and wireless charging, providing a premium and connected driving experience.
