The Nissan Formula E Team has announced a four-year global partnership with Petromin Corporation, a prominent mobility solutions provider in the Middle East. The collaboration will primarily focus on Petromin’s EV charging subsidiary, Electromin, as both companies aim to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across the region.
The partnership builds on the existing relationship between Nissan and Petromin, especially through Petromin Nissan, which has previously been an innovation partner in Diriyah races. Together, Nissan, Petromin, Electromin, and Petromin Nissan will work to promote the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of the Nissan Formula E Team, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “I’m delighted to announce the partnership between Nissan Formula E Team, Petromin, and Electromin. It shows how important it is for Nissan to integrate its Formula E project into the broader strategic plan, not just for the promotion of our Ambition 2030 electrification plan, but also to leverage existing relationships within the group.”
He highlighted that Electromin’s parent company, Petromin Corporation, is a key partner for Nissan in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of creating synergies that benefit the Nissan brand both regionally and globally. The partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the development of Nissan’s GEN4 Formula E program.
Kalyana Sivagnanam, Group CEO of Petromin Corporation, shared his excitement, stating, “We are immensely proud to enter this strategic partnership with Nissan Formula E Team as its official global sponsor for the next four years, with Electromin leading the charge in the first year. This collaboration is more than just a sponsorship — it reflects Petromin Corporation’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation, aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
He further emphasized that the partnership serves as a critical step in accelerating EV adoption across the region, reinforcing the strong alliance between Nissan and Petromin while paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.
To support this strategic agreement, Electromin’s branding will be prominently displayed on Nissan’s advanced e-4ORCE 05 race cars, driven by Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato. The branding will also appear on drivers’ suits, team kits, and various marketing assets, enhancing Electromin’s visibility on the global stage.
This partnership underscores the shared commitment of Nissan and Petromin to innovation and sustainability, aiming to shape the future of electric mobility in the Middle East and beyond.
