Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), India’s leading electric three-wheeler company, has officially launched the Mahindra ZEO, a cutting-edge electric four-wheeler aimed at revolutionizing urban logistics. The ZEO, which stands for “Zero Emission Option,” underscores Mahindra’s commitment to eco-friendly transport solutions while helping customers in the commercial segment reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Features and Pricing
The Mahindra ZEO, available in two variants, is priced starting from ₹7.52 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). According to the company, the ZEO offers significant savings for customers, with up to ₹7 lakh in cost reductions over a seven-year period compared to diesel small commercial vehicles (SCVs).
High-Performance Capabilities
Built on a 300+ V high-voltage architecture, the Mahindra ZEO delivers impressive energy efficiency, a longer range, and faster charging times. The vehicle’s Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor generates 30 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque, while its 21.3 kWh liquid-cooled battery offers robust performance, including a top speed of 60 km/h and a payload capacity of 765 kg. Its 2250 mm cargo box further enhances its utility for urban logistics.
Enhanced Range and Charging Options
The Mahindra ZEO boasts a real-world driving range of 160 km, supported by a regenerative braking system. It comes equipped with two driving modes—Eco and Power—to help maximize range. Using a DC fast charger, the ZEO can gain 100 km of range in just 60 minutes, with a 3.3 kW onboard charger provided as standard.
Driver-Friendly Features
Designed with ease of use in mind, the Mahindra ZEO’s 32% gradeability makes it highly capable on inclines. Its automatic transmission, smart gear shifter, and Creep Function reduce driver fatigue, particularly in congested city traffic. The vehicle also has a low turning radius of 4.3 m, making it highly maneuverable on narrow roads.
Inside, the ZEO features a walk-through cabin with a dashboard-placed transmission dial, a digital instrument console, a type-C USB charging slot, and a lockable glovebox for added convenience.
Smart Connectivity with NEMO
The Mahindra ZEO is integrated with the NEMO telematics platform, offering real-time data via the NEMO Driver or Fleet Management apps. These apps provide tools for performance optimization, geofencing, and trip planning, as well as access to public charging hubs and service locations.
Warranty and After-Sales Support
The Mahindra ZEO comes with a seven-year/1.5 lakh km battery warranty. Customers can also opt for the Mahindra Safar service package, which includes roadside assistance, express service, and an annual maintenance contract. The Safar Plus plan adds extended vehicle warranties and fleet management tools.
Focus on Safety
The ZEO’s safety features include an AI-enabled Driver Monitoring System (DMS) with advanced driver assistance features like Lane Departure Warning, Headway Monitoring, and Pedestrian Collision alerts. The vehicle’s battery and motor are IP67-rated, ensuring safety under harsh conditions. It also comes with Hill Hold Assist and a stable 2500 mm wheelbase.
CEO Remarks
Commenting on the launch, Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of MLMML, said, “The Mahindra ZEO is a perfect testament to our ethos of reimagining the last mile ecosystem with innovative technologies, reliable products, and integrated solutions.
