Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reinforced its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure in rural areas by successfully modernizing two Government schools in Ramanagara District. The ceremonial handover of the upgraded facilities at the Government Higher Primary Schools (GHPS) Chakkare and Kodamballi took place in the esteemed presence of Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
This initiative reflects TKM’s ongoing dedication to fostering state-of-the-art learning environments that cater to the evolving needs of local communities. To date, TKM has completed modernization projects at 13 Government schools, underlining its steadfast commitment to educational development.
Modernization Highlights
The modernization projects at GHPS Chakkare and GHPS Kodamballi encompass significant enhancements, including:
- Modern classrooms
- A staff room
- A kitchen
- A state-of-the-art science laboratory
- A computer room
- A sports room
- Separate toilets for boys and girls
Each school is fully furnished with benches, desks, chairs, tables, library racks, and laboratory furniture, creating a conducive learning environment for students.
- GHPS Chakkare: Serves 424 students from I to VII Std, with a built-up area of 14,408 square feet. The project cost was ₹4.35 crores.
- GHPS Kodamballi: Caters to 765 students from I to X Std, occupying a built-up area of 20,178 square feet, with a project cost of ₹5.14 crores.

Comprehensive CSR Initiatives
Since 2001, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been integral to TKM’s philosophy, focusing on scalability and sustainability across various themes, including education, environment, hygiene, health, road safety, and skill development. Notably, TKM has implemented the Toyota Anganwadi Program (TADP) in 150 centers in Ramanagara District, which focuses on developing model Anganwadi centers. This program has already positively impacted over 12,222 students in the last financial year and a total of 132,980 students since its inception.
Additionally, TKM has reinitiated its flagship program, A Behavioural Change Demonstration (ABCD), which was implemented in 550 schools during FY 2024-25, benefiting 28,000 students.
