Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has proudly partnered with the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Uttarakhand War Memorial for the ‘Vayu Veer Vijeta Rally,’ also known as ‘Himalayan Thunder’ and ‘Wings of Glory.’ The 7,000-km rally, aimed at honouring the bravery of fallen soldiers and inspiring youth to join the Indian Armed Forces, was ceremonially flagged off by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh at the National War Memorial.

The rally’s formal flag-off is set for Air Force Day on October 8, 2024, at THOISE Air Force Station, one of the highest-altitude air stations in the world. It will feature 52 participants, including air warriors, women officers, and veterans, supported by 12 Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUVs. These vehicles will navigate the challenging terrains from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the Jimny’s renowned off-road capabilities.

During the rally, the convoy will make 16 stops and engage with youth at schools and colleges to raise awareness about the Indian Armed Forces, all while paying homage to war memorials along the route. Senior Maruti Suzuki executive Partho Banerjee emphasized the company’s pride in supporting the mission, stating, “The Jimny aligns perfectly with the spirit of this rally, honouring those who have served with courage.”
