BMW is set to expand its lineup in November 2024, introducing new model variants across the BMW 1 Series, BMW 5 Series Touring, and the fully electric BMW i5 Touring. Enhancements include new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric options, innovative entertainment systems, and cutting-edge technological upgrades aimed at boosting driver comfort and experience.
Among the highlights, the new BMW 116 provides an economical entry into the 1 Series with its 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing 122 hp. A more powerful all-wheel-drive option, the BMW 123 xDrive, joins the lineup with a 160 kW/218 hp electrified powertrain, capable of 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Additionally, BMW introduces the high-performance M135 xDrive with the M Technology Package, enhancing handling and lap-time performance with advanced lightweight materials and bracing elements.
In the 5 Series Touring range, three new models are added, including the fully electric BMW i5 xDrive40 Touring, which boasts a system output of 290 kW/394 hp and a range of up to 520 km. Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid BMW 550e xDrive Touring combines a six-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a system output of 360 kW/489 hp and an impressive 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds. The new BMW 520i Touring, equipped with a four-cylinder petrol engine, rounds out the new additions.
The autumn 2024 lineup will also introduce enhanced charging speeds, reducing the time to recharge PHEV models by nearly 50%. Remote Software Upgrades will further enhance the driving experience, with video streaming, in-car gaming, and digital fuel payment systems becoming available across more models. New exterior colors and interior options, including Merino leather and M Alcantara headlining, offer customers further customization.
As BMW prepares to launch these vehicles, the brand continues to push the boundaries of luxury, sustainability, and driving performance for the future.
