Lucid Group, Inc., showcased its upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV, key technologies, and cost-effective manufacturing innovations during its Technology & Manufacturing Day at its Arizona factory. The company also revealed that by August 31, 2024, it had already delivered more vehicles than in all of 2023.

Lucid introduced its next-generation drive unit, Atlas, currently in development and undergoing testing. This new unit promises enhanced value and will power Lucid’s upcoming midsize platform vehicles. The existing Lucid drive unit already leads the industry with superior power density, higher peak power, and better cost-per-horsepower than competitors. It’s compact, energy-efficient, and maximizes cabin space while using fewer batteries for a longer range. “Today demonstrates how the Lucid Gravity is set to be the best SUV ever, showcasing its revolutionary package and attributes only made possible with the technologies Lucid has pioneered,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO at Lucid. “Our drive unit is one of several important enabling technologies, delivering next-level performance, collectively enabling a lower cost for our powertrain system than our competitors. Simply put, our vehicles go farther with less, unlocking significant cost and mass savings as we scale.”

The latest Lucid UX 2.4 over-the-air (OTA) update enhances the Dream Drive Pro Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), introduces new voice controls, and refreshes the navigation map design.
