The Maharashtra Cabinet sub-committee on industries, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, approved four major technology-driven projects on Thursday, totaling an investment of ₹1.17 lakh crore across Marathwada, Vidarbha, Pune, and Panvel. These initiatives, focused on semiconductor and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, are expected to generate 29,000 jobs.

CM Shinde highlighted the significance of the projects, stating that they will bring substantial investment in semiconductor and EV manufacturing, creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities. He emphasized that these developments will position Maharashtra as a leader in the electric vehicle sector, fostering technological innovation, research and development, and benefiting micro, small, and medium enterprises through a strengthened local supply chain.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) mentioned that the sub-committee had given approval to projects valued at ₹80,000 crore in July. With the recent approval of ₹1.17 lakh crore, the state now stands to attract a total investment of ₹2 lakh crore, leading to the creation of 35,000 jobs.
