BMW M GmbH, the high-performance subsidiary of BMW, has introduced the latest addition to its fleet of MotoGP™ safety cars – the BMW M5 MotoGP™ Safety Car. The unveiling took place on Thursday evening during a special customer event at the House of BMW in Milan, coinciding with the introduction of the new BMW M5 model range.

The event was led by Sylvia Neubauer, Vice President of Customer, Brand, and Sales at BMW M GmbH, and Massimiliano Di Silvestre, CEO of BMW Italia. This latest safety car marks another step in BMW’s ongoing commitment to cutting-edge hybrid technology, following the BMW XM Label Red Safety Car.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports,” Neubauer said. “We have always aimed to ensure safety with the most innovative high-performance automobiles. We are continuing this tradition with the BMW M5 MotoGP Safety Car.”

Based on the recently premiered BMW M5, this high-performance vehicle is equipped with a model-specific version of the M HYBRID system. The combination of a V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor delivers an impressive 727 hp. The car’s exterior features BMW M’s characteristic design, with wide wheel arches, side skirts, and a special graffiti-style livery inspired by the BMW M Hybrid V8 race cars.
