ZETWERK, the world’s largest contract manufacturing marketplace, has reached a significant milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) sector with its 60kW and 120kW DC fast chargers receiving certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). This approval marks a major step in ZETWERK’s effort to enhance India’s EV infrastructure, aligning with the government’s ‘Make-in-India’ initiative.

The ARAI, operating under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, granted the approval following extensive testing, confirming that ZETWERK’s chargers meet the highest safety, environmental, and performance standards. These chargers are designed to offer dependable and efficient charging solutions nationwide.

ZETWERK’s chargers are set to play a key role in expanding India’s EV charging network. The company has already secured deals to supply chargers to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and various private charge point operators. This collaboration will increase the availability of fast-charging stations, helping to overcome one of the major challenges to widespread EV adoption—insufficient charging infrastructure.

“Receiving ARAI certification is a significant achievement for us and validates our dedication to quality, safety, and reliability,” said Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Co-founder and COO of ZETWERK. “This supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and reinforces our commitment to advancing electric vehicle adoption with high-quality, locally produced chargers. We aim to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet today’s needs and future innovations in sustainable energy.”

ZETWERK also plans to introduce new products this financial year to strengthen its market position. The company is actively engaged in research and development to expand its product portfolio, including the development of next-generation Super DC Chargers with capacities of 240kW and 360kW, aimed at reducing charging times for commercial and public charging stations. This initiative highlights ZETWERK’s long-term vision to revolutionize EV charging infrastructure.

“This ARAI certification is a key milestone in our effort to reshape India’s EV charging infrastructure,” said Abhay Adya, Business Head – Energy Transition Business at ZETWERK. Our DC fast chargers will deliver dependable and swift charging solutions, contributing to the expansion of the EV ecosystem. By partnering with key organizations like IOCL, we are helping to build a sustainable EV infrastructure for India’s growing electric mobility market.”

As part of its collaboration with IOCL, announced earlier this year, ZETWERK will install over 1,400 EV fast chargers across India. These chargers, ranging from 50kW to 120kW, will feature advanced DC Dual Gun CCS2 DC Charger technology. This project is a central part of IOCL’s renewable energy strategy, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of transportation and fostering sustainable mobility solutions in India.
