Minda Corporation Limited, the flagship company of Spark Minda, has entered into a Technology Licensing Agreement with Sanco Connecting Technology, a leading Chinese company specializing in Electric Vehicle (EV) connection systems. The partnership aims to expand Minda Corp’s product portfolio in the rapidly growing EV industry, focusing on Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS).
The agreement, which was signed in the presence of key executives including Mr. Deepak Arora, CEO of Minda Corp’s Wiring Harness Division, and Mrs. Lisa Lin, CEO of Sanco, will see both companies collaborate to locally develop advanced EV solutions. These include EV connecting systems, charging gun assemblies, bus bars, cell contact systems, Power Distribution Units (PDU), and Battery Distribution Units (BDU).
Speaking about the collaboration, Mr. Aakash Minda, Executive Director of Minda Corporation, described the partnership as a key milestone in the company’s efforts to deliver customized EDS solutions to the EV market. “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for the growing Electric Vehicle sector,” said Minda. He emphasized the company’s focus on achieving localization and delivering greater value across various vehicle segments.
Mr. Zhijian Zeng, Chairman of Sanco Connecting Technology, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership for Sanco’s expansion into the Indian EV market. “By partnering with Minda Corporation, we aim to leverage their strong relationships with global automakers and local production capabilities to provide world-class solutions to Indian OEMs,” Zeng said.
The partnership is expected to bolster Minda Corp’s vertical integration capabilities and strengthen its position in the EV supply chain ecosystem in India.
