Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors and a leader in India’s electric vehicle (EV) revolution, has launched two exclusive EV retail stores under the TATA.ev brand in Kochi. The new stores, located in Edappally and Kalamassery, aim to redefine the EV purchase and ownership experience, catering to the evolving expectations of India’s growing EV community.
As the country witnesses a surge in EV adoption, consumer behavior is also evolving, with buyers seeking a more personalized and sophisticated experience throughout their purchase journey. The TATA.ev brand responds to these demands by offering a consumer-facing identity that emphasizes community, technology, and sustainability. These values are embodied in the new retail spaces, designed to provide a welcoming and informative environment for EV enthusiasts.
Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, highlighted Kerala’s significant role in India’s EV market, noting the state’s 5.6% EV penetration rate. “Kerala has been at the forefront of adopting future technologies, making it the ideal location for our new TATA.ev stores. Our goal is to democratize EVs for the mass market while offering a premium and digitized ownership experience,” said Chandra. He also announced plans to open five exclusive EV service centers across key cities in Kerala, further enhancing the brand’s commitment to the electric revolution.
The TATA.ev store in Edappally, spanning over 8,800 sq. ft., is the brand’s largest EV retail space in India. It features a dedicated 60 kW DC fast charger and showcases the new TATA.ev Originals accessories range. Additionally, a dedicated EV service facility with 17 bays is set to open in the coming months, with the capacity to service over 800 vehicles monthly.
